Ardor is a parent-child chain architectural multichain blockchain platform. The parent Ardor chain is responsible for the network's security, while the interoperable child chains are responsible for all functionality. Ardor was built with scalability in mind, and it addresses a number of issues in the industry, including blockchain bloat, single token dependency, and the need for easily customized yet interoperable blockchain solutions. Ardor is built on the Nxt blockchain and promises to be the pure proof-of-stake consensus mechanism. Ignis is Ardor's first child chain. The ARDR token is a payment method for network activities as well as a staking option. In the Proof-of-Stake consensus, only the parent chain token (ARDR) is used. As a result, all the child chains, which are only utilized as transactional units of value, are secure.
