Mask Network is a Twitter and Facebook network that allows users to transmit encrypted communications. It serves as a link between the internet and a decentralized network that runs on top of it.Mask Network was launched in July 2019, with its inaugural use case allowing Facebook and Twitter users to encrypt postings on the networks. It then secured $2 million in a fundraising round headed by HashKey and Hash Global in November 2020, and a further $3 million in a funding round led by Digital Currency Group and Fundamental Labs in February 2021.Mask Network now allows users to directly finance Gitcoin grant campaigns via Twitter, as well as plans for peer-to-peer payments and decentralized storage. It's a decentralized portal that lets users use decentralized applications (DApps) like crypto payments, decentralized finance, decentralized storage, e-commerce (digital goods/NFTs), and decentralized organizations (DAO) over existing social networks without having to migrate, resulting in a decentralized Applet (DApplet) ecosystem.
