Shiden Network is a Kusama Network multi-chain decentralized application layer. By design, Kusama Relaychain does not support smart contracts; Kusama Network requires a smart contract layer. Shiden Network can help with this. Shiden has always supported the Ethereum Virtual Machine, WebAssembly, and Layer2 solutions. Various applications, such as DeFi, NFTs, and others, are supported by the platform.Shiden is designed to act as a "canary network" for Plasm, its Polkadot equivalent created by the same company, by making early code releases available before they are released on Plasm.Shiden's native cryptocurrency, SDN, is used for staking and rewarding nodes, paying transaction fees and compensating dapp operators, among other things. SDN is intended to be airdropped to community members who use their KSM (Kusama's cryptocurrency) to vote for the application to go live on Kusama via a process known as a Parachain Auction, similar to most parachains.
